The crystallisation of peptides can be an effective method for purification by rejection of impurities which may be difficult to remove using chromatographic techniques. In addition, crystallisation may result in an improvement in physico-chemical properties. PhysChem Solutions initially assess the structural features and properties of our client’s peptides before designing and conducting relevant experiments targeting crystallisation of the peptide, whilst avoiding gelation, aggregation and fibrillation.
Characterisation of crystalline forms is conducted to ascertain the nature of the solid forms and the purification potential is also established through a series of crystallisation trials.
